The title is an apt one, and Oliver meets the demands set up for him with ease. Rick Wilkins wrote the arrangements and leads the band who are mostly, like himself, members of the Boss Brass.
He takes a breathtaking solo on Jazz Gavotte, an Oscar Peterson composition, but this is Oliver’s date all the way.
The lush tracks are just that – with twelve-piece string selection working in complete harmony with Oliver and the band.
This recording is without a doubt, one of the best things Oliver has ever done for the Justin Time label.
